SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's golf team played the first 18 holes of the 79th Western Intercollegiate Presented by Titleist Monday at Pasatiempo Golf Club.

The Anteaters are 15th with a 6-count-5 total of 394. Cal holds the early lead at 7-under, while No. 50 UNLV (-6), No. 18 Stanford (-4), and No. 22 Arizona (-3) are all within four strokes.

Taishi Moto of Arizona and Evan Rogers of Chattanooga tied for the best round of the day as they sit atop the individual leaderboard at 5-under 65.

Rei Harashima leads the 'Eaters in a tie for 53rd after carding a 3-over 73. Tommy Lin (76) is three strokes back in a tie for 76th. Jason Tang (81), Kody Li (82), Owen Davis-Piger (82), and Jack Yu (82) rounded out UCI's lineup.

UC Irvine returns to Pasatiempo for the second round of the Western Intercollegiate on Tuesday, April 14. The Anteaters have tee times starting at 10:36 a.m.
