SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. --- UC Irvine women's soccer fell in its regular season road finale 2-0 at Cal Poly and Spanos Stadium on Sunday.
The Mustangs were first on the board in the 23rd minute. Kylie Rojas and Madison Demijohn played off each other setting up Camille Lafaix on right side of the box who slipped a shot around
Glo Hinojosa and in for the 1-0 Cal Poly (8-6-3, 5-1-2) lead. The Anteater offense could not find a response in the first half as they were out-shot, 9-0.

The second half saw more chances for UC Irvine (6-5-6, 2-2-5) starting with
Desiree Mendoza's shot on target in the 48th minute. UCI offered up four shots in the half with three on frame, but nothing by the Mustangs. The defense continued its part including a keen clearance off the line in the 64th minute to keep the match within a goal.
The Mustangs added an insurance strike anyway with a penalty kick in the 83rd minute that Megan Hansen deposited for the 2-0 score.

- The Anteater loss drops them to 6-5-6 overall and 2-2-5 in Big West matches
- At 11 points, the 'Eaters remain in a tie for seventh with other matches still to play on Sunday
- Desiree Mendoza had three of UCI's four shots with two on target to tie of the lead of all players in the match
- Glo Hinojosa made three saves in the match with her defense adding a fourth
- Entering for 15 minutes in her second career match was Anteater Halli Stewart
The regular season concludes on Thursday, October 27 at Anteater Stadium as UC Irvine hosts Hawai'i. The 'Eaters will be rooting for a loss or draw from Hawai'i on Sunday evening to set up a head-to-head matchup for the last Big West Tournament spot between the two squads as well as CSU Bakersfield
