Women's Track & Field Signs Reina Kabbara to NLI

IRVINE, Calif. - UC Irvine women's track & field has signed local product Reina Kabbara to a National Letter of Intent.
"We are excited to have another Orange County 800m runner staying local," said UCI assistant coach Keith Chambers. "Reina is a great addition, and right at home with our mid-distance group."
Kabbara is in her senior year at Northwood High School in Irvine. Over the summer, she earned All-American honors in the 800m after an eighth-place finish at the 2021 USATF Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships where she ran a personal-record 2:17.20.
As a junior, Kabbara was a CIF-Southern Section Division 2 finalist and Pacific Coast League runner-up in the 800m. She was also a key member of the Timberwolves' relay teams, helping the 4x100 to a league title, while running a leg on both the 4x100 and 4x400 that posted top-eight finishes at the CIF-SS Finals.
Kabbara also lettered in cross country at Northwood HS. She competed in six meets this fall, highlighted by a 10th-place finish at the PCL Finals.
