‘Eaters Celebrate Seniors With Convincing Win Over UC Davis

IRVINE Calif. – No. 8 UC Irvine earned a convincing 11-4 win over No. 9 UC Davis in Big West Conference action on a sunny Sunday afternoon at Anteater Aquatics Complex.
UCI emerged with two key conference victories this weekend and now leads the Big West standings with a 3-1 record. The 'Eaters improve to 16-8 on the year.
UCD falls to 16-10 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
The Anteaters celebrated three seniors, Mary Brooks, Raegan Castillo and Jenna Phreaner, after the game.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
> Junior Tara Prentice matched a career-high five goals, which was also a game-high
> Brooks tallied a hat trick, finishing with three goals. Her second goal of the day notched her 200th career goal. Brooks also dished out an assist and grabbed four steals
> Toni Shackelford, Isabel Rack and Raegan Castillo each had a goal for the 'Eaters
> Morgan Jones made nine saves and two steals in 28 minutes in goal. Jenna Phreaner played the last four minutes of the game in the cage
