
UCI Lands Five on CSC Academic All-District At-Large Team

IRVINE, Calif. - UC Irvine women's water polo had five student-athletes named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District At-Large Team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Juniors Lauren Hett and Annabelle Mundelius both received their second career academic all-district distinction. Juniors Vivian Bailey, Mary Hassett, and Ella Walker joined them as first-time honorees.
Hett led the Anteaters in 2026 as she was an All-America honorable mention selection. She was also named to the All-Big West First Team for the second year in a row. Hett led the squad and ranked second in the conference with 73 goals and 112 points. She also registered 39 assists, 34 steals, and 24 field blocks. Hett, who is majoring in public health policy, will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America voting.
Mundelius finished the 2026 campaign with 18 goals, 12 assists, and nine steals. In UCI's 15-13 win over Long Beach State on Feb. 15, she scored a career-high four goals. Mundelius is majoring in psychological science.
Bailey tallied single-season career highs of 13 goals, seven assists, and nine steals in her third year at UC Irvine. She registered a hat trick, going a perfect 3-for-3 at CSUN on March 26. Bailey is majoring in economics.
Hassett ranked among the top-five 'Eaters with 15 assists, while adding 11 goals and 12 steals in 2026. She had a season-high two goals on three occasions, including in back-to-back Big West outings against UC Davis (March 1) and UC Santa Barbara (March 6). Hassett is majoring in psychological science.
Walker earned the starting goalkeeper spot and closed out the year with 140 saves, a 10.92 goals against average, nine steals, and five assists. She had four outings with 10+ saves, starting with a season-high 12 at UCLA on Feb. 7. Walker is majoring in public health policy.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Water polo student-athletes also must have played in 90% of their team's total games or have started 66% of their team's games.
