Men's Soccer Starts Spring Season This Week

IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine men's soccer begins its spring season this week with the first of six matches over the next eight weeks.
The Anteaters will play all six matches in Irvine with five on campus and the other at the OC Great Park. That OC Great Park match starts off the season Friday, March 1 as the 'Eaters match up with head coach Yossi Raz's former school, Cal Poly Pomona, starting at 7:00 p.m.
The 'Eaters premier spring matchup comes to Crawford Field on the campus of UC Irvine Saturday, March 9, as the Mexican under-17 National Team squares off with the Anteaters.
The squad will take a month off before returning April 6 for two matches starting at 1:00 p.m. in Anteater Stadium with UNLV and followed by the University of Redlands.
UCI wraps up the spring season with two final matches in a week hosting Cal Baptist Saturday, April 13, at 3:00 p.m. before welcoming in Cal State Los Angeles for a Thursday night matchup, April 18
The Anteaters hosted Toronto FC prior to the spring season playing a shortened match against the MLSers falling 3-1. UC Irvine's grounds have also been the training site for MLS clubs such as the Colorado Rapids and Chicago Fire as the MLS season approaches.
