UCI Women's Basketball Selected for ESPN3 Coverage

IRVINE, Calif. - The Big West Conference has released its ESPN3 schedule for the upcoming 2019-20 basketball season, and the UC Irvine women are in the mix for as many as five regular season games.
The Anteaters are guaranteed to be featured on ESPN3 at least once as their match-up against Long Beach State at the Bren Events Center on Saturday, Jan. 25, was selected for the women's portion of the package.
In addition, the 'Eaters are included in four of the six possible wild card dates. UCI is an ESPN3 wild card option for its home games against defending Big West champion UC Davis (Feb. 8) and Hawai'i (Feb. 27), as well as its road games at Long Beach State (Feb. 20) and Cal State Fullerton (March 7). The wild card contests will be selected three weeks in advance.
The entirety of the Big West Tournament will also be broadcast live on ESPN3.
The Anteaters were recently picked to finish first in the Big West Preseason Coaches' Poll. They return 10 players from a 2018-19 squad that recorded the program's first 20-win season in 34 years. They welcome back two All-Big West selections in Lauren Saiki and Jordan Sanders, who is one of the top-five returning scoring leaders in the nation after averaging 20.3 points per game last year.
