Ellery Burke-Brown is a 5-foot-9 shooting guard from Seattle, Washington. Burke-Brown was a four-year varsity letterwinner at Roosevelt High School where she earned first-team All-Metro League honors. She was also a 2025-26 McDonald's All-American Game nominee.
How did you get started playing basketball?
I got started playing basketball from a young age. I got thrown into all the sports, but basketball was always my favorite and it stuck with me for the longest.
When did you realize you wanted to pursue basketball at the collegiate level?
I would say from the beginning I knew I wanted to play basketball as long as I possibly could, and at the highest level.
Who has been the biggest inspiration in your basketball career?
My biggest inspiration has definitely been my parents. They pushed me to do my best and helped me get to where I am today.
How would you describe your playing style to fans who have never seen you play before?
I'm a shooting guard, so catch and shoot. I also like the one-dribble pull-up and getting my teammates involved.
Why did you choose UC Irvine?
I chose UC Irvine because of the coaches; I felt very welcome and very wanted. The culture here is exactly what I was looking for.
What are you most looking forward to this season?
I'm looking forward to game days. I'm excited to get to know the team better and to get out there on the court with them.
What is your favorite thing about Irvine so far?
My favorite thing is the beach. I've definitely been craving the beach so it's great to be living out here.
