IRVINE, Calif. ā Fourth-ranked UCLA scored with 1:42 left in the second overtime period, as the No. 7 UC Irvine women's water polo team fell, 8-7, Friday night at Anteater Aquatics Complex.

Allie Loomis put the Anteaters ahead by one goal, 7-6, with 1:50 left in regulation before the Bruins' Lizette Rozeboom scored on a powerplay situation, sending the game into overtime.
UCI (3-5) trailed by three heading into the final frame, however, the 'Eaters defense stepped up and shut out UCLA (13-1) from scoring in the first six minutes of the fourth quarter. During the stretch,

Keana Eldridge and drilled one in past the Bruins goalkeeper before freshman
Tara Prentice found
Natalie Seidemann for another UCI goal. Ā Loomis tallied back-to-back goals including an extraman goal that put the 'Eaters back ahead.
Neither team would score during the first overtime period as the game remained tied at seven headed into second overtime. UCI goalkeeper
Morgan Jones made three big saves in the frame to keep the 'Eaters alive.
UCLA drew an exclusion with 1:56 showing in second overtime and capitalized on the six-on-five situation to seal the win.
UCI had 11 exclusions compared to the Bruins 2. The 'Eaters went 1-for-2 on powerplays while UCLA was 5-for-11. Ā
Loomis led the Anteaters with two goals while Borkovec,
Julie Swieca, Seidemann, Eldridge and Prentice each had one. On defense, Prentice grabbed a team-best three steals while Eldridge and Rack had two apiece. Jones made five saves in goal.
UCLA got on the board first before Swieca fired one in to tie it at one after the first quarter. Both teams exchanged points back-and-fourth in the second frame as the game remained tied at three at the half.
The Bruins shutout UCI in the third quarter while tallying three goals of their own to take a three-point advantage into the final frame.
Rozeboom and Musselman led UCLA in scoring with three goals each. In goal, Carlee Kapana made 11 stops.
Next,Ā UC Irvine will host the Barbara Kalbus Invitational Feb. 23-25. The tournament will be played between the UCI Aquatics Center and Corona del Mar High School pool.
