
UCI Alum Charles Jock Advances to 800m Final at U.S. Championships

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - UC Irvine upcoming junior Isaiah Jewett saw his run at the USA Track & Field Championships come to an end in the semifinals, while alum Charles Jock advanced to the 800m final Friday evening at Hornet Stadium.
Jewett, who was in Heat 1, was able to get out to the front of the pack and ran in second until the final 100 meters. He ended up clocking in at 1:47.96 for his third-straight sub-1:48 race. Jewett finished 16th out of 33 at his first U.S. senior national championship meet. This was also his first year focusing on the 800m.
Jock, a 2016 Olympian, crossed the finish line in 1:46.92 to finish fourth in Heat 2, earning him a spot in the final at 1:20 p.m. on Sunday, June 25. Jock was a three-time All-American and 2012 NCAA Champion as an Anteater.
Recent UCI graduate Lloyd Sicard is set to run in the first round of the 110m hurdles at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, June 24.
