PALO ALTO, Calif. – No. 6 UC Irvine beat No. 20 Loyola Marymount, 9-5 in the second game of the Stanford Invitational Saturday.
The Anteaters started the game with a 3-1 lead on the strength of two goals by Mary Brooks who finished with four goals. UCI would score three more to lead 6-1 after the second period.
LMU would outscore UCI 3-1 in the third quarter narrowing the margin 7-4. UCI would score two more to secure the win, 9-5.
UCI will take on No. 1 Stanford at 8:30 tomorrow morning at the Avery Aquatics Center.
