November 29, 2017 | Men's Track & Field
IRVINE, Calif. – The UC Irvine men's track & field team has revealed its schedule for the upcoming 2018 season head coach Jeff Perkins announced on Wednesday.

UCI, which begins the outdoor campaign in March, will stay local for most of the year with 11 of its 13 regular-season competitions in Southern California. Highlighting the 2018 slate are three home meets, including the annual UCI Spring Collegiate Classic, Big West Challenge and Steve Scott Invitational.
"With a majority of our meets right here on the West Coast this season, it gives us the weather factor that most teams seek year-in and year-out," Perkins said. "We should have the ability to take advantage of the consistent warm temperatures and some of the better venues nationally within the state of California to get the marks we need to compete at NCAA's and beyond."
The 'Eaters are set to kick off the season at the All-UC Meet in La Jolla for the seventh year in a row (March 3). They then make their way to Fullerton for the Ben Brown Invitational before hosting the UCI Spring Collegiate Classic, March 16-17.
After competing in the UCR Spring Classic on March 23-24, most of the squad heads to Northern California for the Mondo Team Challenge (March 30-31) and Stanford Invitational (March 31). The distance runners will stay back for the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival at UCLA on March 30.
UC Irvine then returns home to welcome Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara to Anteater Stadium for the Big West Challenge on April 6.
The 'Eaters will also take part in the Triton Invitational, Mt. SAC Relays, Bryan Clay Invitational and Beach Invitational, prior to hosting the Steve Scott Invitational in the team's final tune-up before the Big West Championships.
The conference meet will be held in Northridge with the heptathlon/decathlon running from May 4-5, and the main events scheduled for May 11-12.
The NCAA West Preliminaries are slated for March 24-26 in Sacramento, and the collegiate season comes to an end with the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., June 6-9.
