Four Represent Women's Soccer on All-Big West List

IRVINE, Calif. --- Women's soccer saw four of its own present on the 2015 All-Big West squad.
The forward-defender duo of Kiana Palacios and Clarissa Robles were worthy of Second Team honors. Palacios turned it on late scoring the team's last four goals on the season to finish with five to lead the team. She finished alongside Robles at the top with three assists while Robles handled the backline helping secure seven shutouts.
In net for all seven shutouts was senior keeper Corey Tobin who landed as an honorable mention along with four other keepers. She also more than doubled her save output with 77 on the season while matching her single-season high with seven wins.
The final member of the squad was freshman Brittany Nguyen who filled a midfield spot on the All-Freshman team. She timed her first career point well assisting on Palacios' goal in the season finale, and appeared in 18 of 19 matches this year starting 17 of them.
"We're always very proud when any player receives individual recognition," praised ninth-year head coach Scott Juniper. "These girls excelled right alongside their teammates all year so that's something the entire team can be proud of. It's always an added bonus to be recognized by your peers and coaches around the conference."
Robles roped in her second honor, both coming as a second-teamer. Tobin joins her as a two-time honoree, her first since making the second team as a freshman. Palacios received her first honor, she's actually the first sophomore for the 'Eaters since Natalia Ledezma's appearance in 2011.
Nguyen continued the streak of Anteaters on the All-Freshman squad. Haley O'Brien, Sammie James, and Alex Karlowitsch represented each of the last three years giving UCI a player in all four seasons the team has been a part of the honors.
The 'Eaters are without a first-teamer for the first time since 2008, but continued its run of seven consecutive seasons with four or more players named.
