Incoming' Eaters: Jenny Konishi
July 09, 2014 | Women's Soccer
IRVINE, Calif. --- Jenny Konishi joins the 'Eaters from the junior college level.
The Trabuco Hills native comes most recently from Santiago Canyon College. As a sophomore, the forward elicited all-conference honors by leading the team with 22 goals, eight game-winners, and 15 assists which includes a five-goal performance last season for the school that went 21-2-2.
"Jenny has genuine DI pace to her game, and showed her ability to break down back lines in her time at Santiago Canyon College," Head Coach Scott Juniper praised. "She will follow in the esteemed footsteps of others who have made the successful transformation from Hawks to Anteaters like Kim Horn, Amanda Hardeman, and Bianca Frontino."
In high school, Konishi was honored as best offensive player and named all-league twice. The four-year scholar-athlete played soccer her final three years after initially lettering in track. She also spent club soccer with United Futbol Club.
Konishi is a unique talent with a knack for finding the net, something the 'Eaters look to expand on in the ever-increasing competition within the Big West.
