
Lexi Kopf Named to Academic All-District Team

IRVINE, Calif. --- Senior forward Lexi Kopf (Sonora / Sonora HS) was voted onto the Capital One Academic All-District 8 First Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Kopf has been a force on the field with 11 goals, five game-winners, and one assist this season in 19 matches. She ranks second in the Big West in game-winners and third in goals and points. Her senior presence has earned the 'Eaters a 14-3-2 record, 6-1-1 in the Big West for their second consecutive regular season title and a shot at the Big West Tournament title as they have reached the championship match.
Kopf has scored accolades from a number of different publications this season. She became the first Anteater to be named the Disney Soccer/NSCAA National Player of the Week in addition to Big West Offensive Player of the Week and two-time TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week.
Kopf, a biological sciences major, has been named a UCI Scholar-Athlete three times and was a Big West Fall All-Academic Team member in 2009-10.
Kopf joins Tanya Taylor and Natalie Franklin as the only UCI women's soccer athletes to be named to the Academic All-District team. Her nomination to the first team has earned her a spot on the ballot for Academic All-American which will be announced Dec. 1st.
Coming off her first career hat trick on senior day, she and the Anteaters won the Big West Tournament Semifinal Thursday night to advance to the championship match, Sun. Nov. 6th at Anteater Stadium at 12:00 p.m.
