5 Questions for Scott Stadick:

Q: What is your primary vocation? What do you do when you’re not coaching volleyball?
A: I am a Financial Analyst for Niagara Bottling Company on the Revenue Analytics Team. I primarily help focus on our Aseptic and Premium labels which would include those protein shakes that we all love and the higher end water brands in the market.

Q: Favorite (non-volleyball) sports team? Explain.
A: My favorite team is the Chicago Bears. My father and mother both grew up in the Chicago area, so it is in my blood. Growing up in Wisconsin I had to constantly defend myself against the abuse of Packers Fans (the Bears arch-nemesis), so my fandom became fanatical as a result.

Q: What are the prevalent operating modes of the teammates you respect the most?
A: The ability to speak intelligently about the game. If you can prove to me that your actions on the court are calculated and the logic behind those actions, you will have my respect even if I do not agree with the analysis.

Q: What would you want a potential student-athlete to know about UC Irvine Men’s Volleyball before they ever step on campus for a visit?
A: This is a place where you will transition from adolescence into adulthood. Irvine will mature you as a player and as a human being if you embrace it.

Q: What is one thing, unrelated to volleyball, that you love about UC Irvine?
A: The campus. Some of my favorite memories are from walking through Aldrich Park on winter break, late at night, and over the summer when it is fairly empty. It is a beautiful campus and a great place to spend four years playing . Also, a shout-out to the Merage School of Business. It is a beautiful school tucked back in the corner of campus filled with some fantastic people.
