Happy Father's Day: Anteater Legacy
June 21, 2026 | Men's Volleyball
Beck Weber became the first legacy player for UC Irvine men’s volleyball following in the footsteps of his father Cory who played from 1995-98. Cory averaged 4.62 kills over his career, putting away 396 kills to lead the Anteaters his season year. Beck has helped UCI to NCAA appearances two of the last three years, including playing in the National Championship match in 2026. The recent graduate in environmental science and policy was a force at the net for the past four years, recording a career-high eight block assists twice in his career.
"I was never pushed to pursue volleyball. My parents gave me the opportunity to pick what I wanted to do, and volleyball became my free time filler of choice. My dad never pressured me to play at the next level, but when I said I wanted to and had the opportunity to play for UCI, which was his alma mater, he was ecstatic. While I wanted to follow in his footsteps and make him proud, all he wanted for me was to be happy and pursue my love of the sport without feeling like I needed to do it for him. He has given me his time, space, and support which has allowed me to thrive. I am beyond grateful for his influence and guidance through my life and through the sport of volleyball".
Happy Father’s Day!
