California Irvine Athletics

 
The UC Irvine men's basketball team had a historic season with the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament win, a school-record 31 victories and a UCI-best 17-game win streak. The Anteaters lost only two games in 2019 with one of those setbacks coming to Pac-12 Tournament champion Oregon in the NCAA Round of 32 on Sunday, March 24.

This was UC Irvine's second NCAA Tournament appearance as it earned the Big West's automatic bid after claiming its second tournament title in five years. The 'Eaters rolled through conference play with a 15-1 ledger to secure their fourth regular-season championship since 2014. They also came into the NCAA Tournament as one of only five teams in the nation to reach the 30-win mark.
