+ The Anteater offense was silenced for the first time last match. UCI had a goal in each of its first five matches, and had scored first in every match until Sunday's shutout loss.
+ Anteater scoring had three goals each in the first three matches, first time since 2019, and 10 goals through four matches. Gage Lyons scored in each of the first three and added an assist for his team lead of seven points
+ Brady Treinen knocked home his first goal since his freshman season against USD. Both of his career goals have come in the first 10 minutes of a match and come against top-15 programs. His goal gave him a four-match point streak as well. He was named to the TopDrawerSoccer Preseason top 100 list at No. 77
+ Career milestones are approaching with Gage Lyons set to play in his 60th match this week. He will join two other 'Eaters, Brady Treinen and Isaac Powell, who each are at the 65-match mark. Lyons' career includes 3,500 minutes, 18 goals, and seven game-winners between UCI and Army West Point
+ UC Irvine has seen 11 Anteater debuts and eight making collegiate debuts with the neweset one, Max Parore, on Sunday. That has included 18 starts, two goals, and a shutout win from keeper Scott Williams who is in his sixth collegiate season
+ UCI has earned one weekly award to Javier Bedolla Vera named Big West Rookie of the Week following his goal at PacificÂ

+ The Anteaters dropped a pair of matches of now on a three-game skid. UCI held a lead over No. 9 San Diego before allowing a pair of second-half strikes. Against UNLV, the sides were even at half, and UCI dominated in shots and corners, but fell 2-0 on a pair of second-half goals allowed

+ UC Riverside is 3-1-2, unbeaten in their last five, mostly on the road, and have a 1-1 draw in their last home match with UNLV
+ All-time UCI has a sizable series lead at 24-13-4. The 'Eaters won last year, 3-2, but the home side has had the upper edge unbeaten in the last seven
+ The Highlanders have been out-shot, 77-50, but out-score opponents, 12-5. The junior trio of Diego Esquivel, Tarik Hamideh, and Wyatt Ponting each have put home two goals

+ UC San Diego has UCI next up on Sunday awaiting with a 5-1 record allowing its only goal of the season in a loss to UNLV
+ All-time UCI has a slim 8-7-4 edge while unbeaten since UCSD went Division I, 3-0-2
+ The Tritons started off with a 7-0 victory, and since then it has been a lot of 1-0 or 2-0 results. Junior Ryan Namdar leads in scoring and shooting while UCSD has 10 assists from nine different players. Senior Nic Thiele has held it down in net collecting 16 saves
