LONG BEACH, Calif. – The UC Irvine women's track & field team kicked off the outdoor season with the hammer and javelin at the Beach Opener Friday at Jack Rose Track.

Giselle Rodriguez claimed runner-up honors in the javelin with a personal-record 46.62 meters (152-11). Her mark ranks third in school history. Senior
Jolie Robinson also took fourth at 44.15m (144-10), while senior
Jazzmine Davis (35.56m/116-8) and freshman
Kendall Jordan (33.46m/109-9) placed among the top-10.

Senior
DeAna Davis led a trio of Anteaters in the hammer throw with a fourth-place showing. Davis surpassed 180 feet on five of her six attempts. Her best mark of the day came on her final throw where she hit 57.21m (187-8). Sophomores
Elisabeth Driscoll (44.91m/174-4) and
Leilah Lauifi (41.58m/136-5) added lifetime bests.
