IRVINE, Calif. - UC Irvine men's golf makes its way to Maricopa, Arizona, for the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, March 31-April 1. The two-day tournament will be contested at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club with 36 holes on Monday and the final round on Tuesday. Both days are scheduled for a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.

The Anteaters are part of 25-team field that includes No. 28 USC, No. 42 San Diego, No. 45 South Florida, No. 46 Arkansas State, No. 49 UNLV, No. 61 Saint Mary's, No. 74 Iowa State, UTEP, Western Carolina, Southern Utah, San Francisco, Weber State, New Mexico State, UT Arlington, South Dakota State, Fresno State, Wichita State, Utah State, CSUN, Grand Canyon, Cal State Fullerton, Northern Colorado, Utah Valley, and tournament host Wyoming. UCI's 5-count-4 lineup features Rei Harashima, Jack Yu, Jason Tang, Owen Davis-Piger, and Tommy Lin.

LAST TIME OUT
Rei Harashima shot a 6-under 210 to tie for fifth out of 104 golfers to lead UC Irvine at the UC San Diego Invitational at Torrey Pines' North Course, March 22-24. After starting with a 74 (+2), Harashima responded with back-to-back rounds of 68 (-4) to climb 41 spots in the standings for the Anteaters' first individual top-10 finish of the season. He closed out the tournament with 13 birdies and an eagle on the par-5, 556-yard ninth hole in the second round. 

SENIOR LEADER
Senior Rei Harashima ranks first on the squad with a 72.83 average through 24 rounds. He closed out the fall campaign with a season-best 209 (69-69-71) at the Ka'anapali Classic. Last week, he had a season-best score to par at 6-under 210 (74-68-68). His back-to-back rounds of 68 matched his best 18-hole score of the year which he carded in the first round of the season-opening Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational. Harashima has five sub-70 rounds in 2025-26, and 27 in his career. The three-time All-Big West honoree placed among the top-10 at the conference championships in each of the last two years, finishing third in 2024 and eighth in 2025. Harashima has played in every tournament for UCI since his arrival on campus in 2022, compiling eight top-10 showings and a 72.58 career average (117 rounds). 

YEAR TWO
Sophomore Jack Yu had his best outing of the year at the Lamkin Invitational (March 9-10) where he carded a 1-under 215. Yu got out to a strong start with back-to-back rounds below par at 71 and a season-best 68. He ranks second on the team with a 73.71 scoring average. Last year, Yu and classmate Tommy Lin both placed among the top-20 in their Big West Championship debuts and earned all-conference honorable mention recognition. Sophomore Owen Davis-Piger has also become a regular in the lineup in his second year, playing in all eight of UCI's tournaments. Davis-Piger fired a collegiate career-best 215 (68-70-77) at the Ka'anapali Classic, Oct. 27-29.

STEADY PRESENCE
Junior Jason Tang has played in every tournament in his Anteater career. Through 84 rounds, Tang owns a 73.92 career average. He has five top-20 showings with a career-best sixth-place finish coming in his collegiate debut where he carded a 10-under 203 at the Nick Watney Invitational in September 2023.

FALL RECAP
UC Irvine had a high finish of ninth at the Oregon State Invitational during the fall season. Jack Yu led the 'Eaters at the season-opening Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational with a 6-under 210 (69-69-72), while Rei Harashima was UCI's top finisher in the last three events. Four of the six 'Eaters who competed in a fall tournament had at least one sub-70 round.
