
Jokanovic Earns Big West Freshman Of The Week

IRVINE, Calif. -- For the fifth time this season, outside hitter Andrej Jokanovic has claimed Big West Freshman of the Week honors.
Jokanovic paced UCI in a 1-1 week against UC Santa Barbara, averaging 4.11 kills, 4.56 points and 1.33 digs per set with three aces and a pair of blocks against the Gauchos.
In the win at the Bren Center, Jokanovic pounded a match-high 20 kills for the Anteaters then had a team-best 17 kills with eight digs and a pair of aces and two blocks on the road.
The freshman ranks third in The Big West and 25th nationally in kills per set with a 3.53 average.
No. 5 UC Irvine is idle this week for final exams, returning to action Mar. 27 when they host UC San Diego at the Bren Events Center. First serve is 6:00 p.m.
