FULLERTON, Calif. - UC Irvine women's track & field had four top-five finishes on the first day of the Ben Brown Invitational Thursday at Cal State Fullerton.

Giselle Rodriguez won the javelin with a toss of 42.37 meters (139-0).

DeAna Davis was second overall, but the top collegiate finisher in the hammer throw. Davis improved on her No. 2 mark in program history with a personal-record 57.66m (189-2). Sophomore
Leilah Lauifi added a lifetime-best 43.33m (142-2).

Alana Sugue closed out the day with a runner-up showing in the pole vault. In her outdoor season debut, Sugue was just a half-inch shy of her PR that ranks third in school history, clearing the bar at 3.75 meters (12-3.5). Junior
Kaylee Tan was also fourth at 3.60m (11-9.75). Tan's mark sits eighth among UCI's all-time leaders.

The Anteaters continue action at the Ben Brown Invitational on Friday, while UC Irvine's distance runners will make their way to San Diego for the Aztec Coastal Classic.
