SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Junior
Rei Harashima fired another sub-70 round on Tuesday to lead  the UC Irvine men's golf team through 36 holes of the Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club.

Harashima will enter tomorrow's final round in a tie for eighth at 4-under. He is five strokes back of Arizona's Filip Jakubcik who sits atop the field of 91 golfers at 9-under 131.

No. 22 Pepperdine had the best round of the tournament so far at 8-under to jump six spots into first place (694). No. 18 San Diego State is two strokes back in second, while 21st-ranked Arizona is third at 697.

The  Anteaters dropped three spots to 11th place with a 6-count-5 total of 725 (353-372).

Harashima had four birdies to come in at 1-under 69 in the second round. He remained among the top-eight with a 36-hole score of 136 (67-69).

Tommy Lin is tied for 38th at 3-over 143 (70-73), while
Jack Yu is one stroke behind in a tie for 43rd (70-74).
Jason Tang (152),
JJ Nakao (154) and
Yaoting Zou (157) round out UCI's lineup.
