FULLERTON, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team competed in the Friday Night Lights Meet at Titan Track Complex on Friday.

Roman Mendoza was the lone Anteater in action on the track where he took first in the 400m hurdles. Mendoza clocked a season-best 53.93.

Jake Reed was the top finisher in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 4.60 meters (15-1).
Alan Vuong also matched his personal best in the high jump at 2.01m (6-7).

Garren Haynes won the long jump with a mark of 7.13m (23-4.75), and
Jerry Roberts was the runner-up at 6.92m (22-8.5).
Kenechukwu Okonkwo led the way in the triple jump with a leap of 14.97m (49-1.5).

Jacob Hawkins finished ahead of the pack in the discus with a toss of 55.32m (181-6).
Chimobi Onye added a season-best 47.56m (156-0), while
Jake Troxell notched a personal-record 46.60m (152-10).

In the shot put, Hawkins placed second overall (17.26m/56-7.5). Onye also registered a PR 15.28m (50-1.75).

UC Irvine has a busy week ahead with the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 16-18), Mt. SAC Relays (April 17-19), Pacific Coast Intercollegiate (April 17) and Beach Invitational (April 18-19).
