SPOKANE, Wash. – UC Irvine's distance medley relay broke a school record, while three Anteaters set lifetime bests and scored in the pentathlon to kick off the 2025 MPSF Championships Friday at The Podium.

Anna Vogtmann combined for a third-place finish in the DMR. They clocked in at 11:36.11, beating the previous school record by over 10 seconds.

Jolie Robinson led a trio of 'Eaters in the pentathlon with a runner-up showing. She bettered her No. 3 mark in program history with a total of 3,888 points. Junior
Zharia Taylor also compiled 3,785 points to place fourth overall, while senior
Jazzmine Davis was seventh at 3,606. Taylor and Davis rank fourth and fifth, respectively, among UCI's all-time leaders.

Robinson's day was highlighted by a school record in the long jump. On her second attempt of the competition, Robinson recorded a mark of 6.04 meters (19-9.75) to top the standard of 5.97m (19-7), which she held along with teammate
Reyna Johnson. Robinson added a PR in the 60m hurdles (8.85) and posted the best shot put mark in the field at 11.90m (39-0.5). She also cleared 1.58m (5-2.25) in the high jump and crossed the 800m finish line in 2:27.97.

Taylor had an impressive series in the high jump where she missed only twice. She cleared the bar on her first attempt to win the event at 1.73 meters (5-8), and did the same at the next two heights, ending with a lifetime-best 1.79m (5-10.5) to move up to No. 2 in school history. Taylor also notched a PR in the 60m hurdles (8.95).

Davis led the Anteaters in the 60m hurdles where she had the third-fastest time of the day at 8.64 seconds. In addition, she was fourth in the shot put (10.84m/35-6.75) and 800m (2:27.71) with personal records in both events.

Davis was also one of three 'Eaters to advance to tomorrow's 60m hurdle final. Senior
Reyna Johnson (8.56), Davis (8.58) and sophomore
Kailah McKenzie (8.72) came in sixth, seventh and eighth in Friday's preliminary round.

In the 60m prelims, sophomore
Halle Sutherland had the third-fastest qualifying time at 7.54 seconds. She also set a personal-best 24.35 in the 200m, but finished just out of scoring position (10th).

UCI is sixth in the standings with 21 points. Oregon State leads the field at 46.5 points, while Long Beach State is a close second (46).

UC Irvine returns to The Podium on Saturday, Feb. 22, for the second and final day of the MPSF Championships.
