RENO, Nev. – UC Irvine women's track & field continued to make history, winning its first MPSF Indoor Championship Monday at Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

UCI held a 36.5-point lead after Sunday's action, and continued to roll, taking home the team title with a school-record 132.5 points. Hawai'i was the runner-up at 87 points.

This is the Anteaters' second conference championship in just over nine months as they won the 2025 Big West Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship last May, which was also a first in program history.
"When you reach championship-level competition, success comes down to collective focus and effort," head coach
Jeff Perkins said. "Our team rose to the occasion over the two days of competition, and their performance led to a well-earned championship title. I couldn't be more proud of our team, coaches, and staff for their dedication and achievement."

Jazzmine Davis started day two with an individual title in the 60m hurdles. After finishing fourth in the pentathlon and breaking a school record in the 60H prelims (8.39) yesterday, Davis finished ahead of the pack in the final with a time of 8.41 seconds. The 'Eaters totaled 16 points in the event with junior
Kailah McKenzie (8.69) placing sixth, junior
Sarah Ajayi (8.82) taking seventh, and the MPSF pentathlon champion, freshman
Joy Anderson (8.85) coming in eighth.

UC Irvine added 11 points in the 60m dash. Junior
Halle Sutherland matched her personal-best 7.46 from yesterday to finish third overall. Senior
Samantha Bartz was also fourth in a photo finish as she was seven-thousandths of a second behind Sutherland.

Emma Hadley, who set the school record in the mile during the regular season, claimed runner-up honors with an altitude-adjusted time of 4:45.42. Graduate transfer and school-record holder
Aoife Hernon also had a podium finish in the 400m, clocking in at 54.53 to take third. Senior
Esmeray Demirbas (55.72) contributed an eighth-place showing, while sophomores
Ihe Okoh (56.63) and
Mikah Longcob (56.76) notched lifetime bests that rank eighth and ninth, respectively, in program history.

Nyla Baker had a podium finish in the shot put for the third-straight year. Baker came in third with a toss of 14.22 meters (46-8). Sophomore
Pinkie Schnayer was also sixth at 13.64m (44-9).

In her triple jump debut,
Kailah McKenzie scored with a fifth-place performance. McKenzie had a best of 12.14m (39-10), which ranks second among UCI's all-time leaders.

The Anteaters wrapped up the afternoon in the 4x400 relay where they placed seventh (3:46.83).
