UC Irvine Participates In Marilyn Smith Invitational

OFF THE TEE
UC Irvine will participate in the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 6-7) at the Lawrence Country Club in Lawrence, Kansas.
Teams will play 36 holes Monday at 6:00 a.m. followed by 18 holes Tuesday.
The course plays at Par 71 and 6,068 yards.
Participating teams include Arkansas State, Ball State, Cal Baptist, Central Arkansas, Delaware, Drake, Missouri, Notre Dame, St. Thomas, Tarleton State, UC Davis, UC Fullerton and host Kansas.
UC Irvine's lineup includes Katelyn Kong, Katherine Gerbing, Alona Avery, Jenny Chang and Kiana Briggs.
IN THE CLUBHOUSE
UCI finished in a tie for third at the Molly Collegiate Invitational with a score 887 (296-298-293).
The Anteaters had a 293, the lowest score on the final round led by Katherine Gerbing's 70.
Katelyn Kong was the top Anteater finishing fourth with a 54-hole total of 218 (73-72-73).
Gerbing had UCI's second Top 10 performance, ending in a tie for 10th with a three-round score of 221 (77-74-70).
Kong has a team-low scoring average of 72.67 over six rounds.
