SAN DIEGO – The UC Irvine men's tennis team picked up another road win as it defeated San Diego State, 4-3, Saturday at Aztec Tennis Center.

The Anteaters improved to 2-2 on the young season.

The Aztecs (2-2) took the early advantage in doubles with a 6-3 victory at No. 2. Rithvik Krishna and Ruining Huang brought the 'Eaters even after bouncing back from a 5-3 deficit to top Louis Chusseau/Liam Spiers, 7-5, at the third position. The doubles point then came down to court one where SDSU's Mathieu Josserand/Alexander Mandma outlasted Andy Nguyen and Noah Zamora in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (5).

UCI didn't trail for long as Rithvik Krishna was first off the court in singles, dispatching Louis Chusseau, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 3.

Noah Zamora followed suit with an impressive 6-3, 6-4 win over Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice at the top of the lineup before Andy Nguyen gave UC Irvine a 3-1 advantage with a 6-1, 7-5 triumph at No. 2.

After splitting the first two sets, Fardanesh was dominant in the third for the decisive 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 victory on court six.

Alexander Mandma and Lawee Sherif played out their three-setter at No. 5 with Mandma taking it, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
