Anteaters Rally Past Cal Poly for 4–2 Victory

ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. – The UC Irvine men's tennis team earned a 4–2 victory over Cal Poly, highlighted by strong singles performances from freshman Dev Mangat, junior Mason Bui and sophomore Nathaniel Suh.

UCI took three of the four singles matches with Mangat, Bui and Suh all delivering victories.

Mangat added a straight-set win over Evan Simon, taking the opening set 7–5 before closing out the match with a 6–4 second-set victory.

Bui also earned a comeback victory, bouncing back from a 6–2 first-set loss to Ernst Gouws. Bui claimed the second set 6–2 and carried the momentum into the super tiebreaker, winning 10–7.

Suh rounded out the singles victories with a straight-set win over Denzel Seetso. Suh controlled the match from start to finish, earning a 6–4, 6–3 victory. Yashwin Krishnakumar fell to Jack Cross 3–6, 6–4, (10–2).

In doubles action, the 'Eaters and Mustangs spilt the matches. Gouws and Seetso defeated Bui and Mangat, 6–3, while Suh and Krishnakumar topped Cross and Simon, 7–5.
