
Men's Water Polo Unveils 2024 Slate

IRVINE, Calif. – The UC Irvine men's water polo team announces their 2024 schedule as they look to defend their Big West regular season and championship titles.
Season opening action kicks off for the Anteaters at the Triton Invitational (Sept. 7-8) in La Jolla. Four competitions will be played with the opponents still to be determined.
UCI will host UCLA for their home opener inside the Anteater Aquatics Complex for a Friday afternoon tilt (1 p.m.) on Sept. 13 before heading up to USC the following day (Sept. 14).
The 'Eaters return to LA from Sept. 20-21 for three games in the Big West-WCC Clash. The first will be against the host, LMU, on Friday evening before UCI wraps up the Saturday competition with Pacific and California Baptist.
UC Irvine then welcomes the three-time defending national champions Cal to Irvine on Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. before welcoming fellow MSPF foe Stanford (Sept. 28, 12 p.m.).
The Anteaters wrap up the non-conference tournament season on Oct. 4-5 at the G. Troyer Invitational in Pomona. Opponents and times will be announced at a later date.
Big West action begins for UCI on Oct. 11 for a home contest versus UC San Diego. The annual Ted Newland alumni game will be held on Oct. 12.
UC Irvine and Long Beach State match-up for the first during the season in Long Beach at 7 p.m. on Oct. 18.
The Anteaters will begin a three-game home stand, first hosting Westcliff on Oct. 18, then UC Santa Barbara (Oct. 26), and closing it out with Pepperdine (Oct. 27).
UCI heads up to Northern California at the start of November to face UC Davis on Nov. 1 and San Jose State on Nov. 3.
UC Irvine's regular season will be capped with a three-game stretch that will see Cal State Fullerton (Nov. 8), Whittier (Nov. 9), and Black and Blue rival Long Beach State (Nov. 15) visit the Anteater Aquatics Complex.
The Big West Championship is slated for Nov. 22-24 in Davis. The league's postseason champion earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships in December.
