Jolie Robinson defended her title in the heptathlon at the 2024 Big West Multi-Event Championships Saturday at Miller & Capriotti Athletic Complex.

Robinson was in sixth after Friday's action, but with two of her stronger events on day two, she jumped to the top of the standings with a season-best 5,220 points. Robinson opened the afternoon with a leap of 5.74 meters (18-10) in the long jump. It was the top mark of the competition. She then took second in the javelin at 39.39m (129-2) before securing the victory with a four-second personal-record 2:24.06 in the 800m. Robinson is the Anteaters' first two-time Big West champion in the heptathlon.

Junior
Jazzmine Davis also scored in the event, coming in fifth with a personal-record 5,085 points. Her total ranks ninth in school history. Davis tied for fourth in the long jump at 5.44m (17-10.25), while notching the fifth-best javelin mark of the meet with a toss of 32.96m (108-1). In the 800m, she was UCI's top performer and sixth in the competition with a lifetime-best 2:24.06.

Laura Sangiacomo finished with a personal-best 4,280 points to place 12th. Sangiacomo put up marks of 4.68m (15-4.25) in the long jump and 30.99m (101-8) in the javelin, while running a PR 2:31.67 in the 800m.

Chaselyn Amos took 14th with 4,200 points. On Saturday, she registered a mark of 4.89m (16-0.5) in the long jump, a season-best 28.65m (94-0) in the javelin and a time of 2:36.35 in the 800m.

UC Irvine returns to San Luis Obispo, California, next weekend for the remainder of the 2024 Big West Championship events, May 10-11.
