Lauren Hett Earns Big West Weekly Honor

IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine freshman Lauren Hett was named the Big West Player of the Week after playing a vital role in the Anteaters two victories over the last week of action improving to 14-9 overall and 2-1 in the Big West.
This is the first honor of Hett's career, first of the season.
Against No. 21/23 Brown, Hett notched three goals on four shots along with two steals. It was the third hat-trick of her rookie year and the fourth time tallying two takeaways.
On the road in a pivotal league match up, Hett poured in two goals on four shots in the 10-7 victory over No. 15/15 UC Santa Barbara. The attacker's first goal of the contest came after the opening sprint in the third period and her second was a five-meter penalty conversion to help create separation between the two sides.
The freshman recorded her fifth and sixth multi-goal games of the season in the last week and is third on the team in both goals (25) and points (34).
Hett and the Anteaters are set to face No. 2/2 Hawai'i on Friday April 5th at 7 p.m. inside the Anteater Aquatics Complex.
