SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's golf team completed the first round of the 77th Western Intercollegiate Monday at Pasatiempo Golf Club.

The Anteaters combined for a 6-count-5 total of 387 to sit in 14th place.

No. 9 Arizona was the only team to come in below par as the Wildcats lead the field at 2-under 348. Stanford, which is ranked 38th in the nation, is second at 354 (+4), while No. 8 Washington is one stroke behind the Cardinal in third.

The Huskies' Taehoon Song had the best round of the day with a 4-under 66.

Darien Zhao was UCI's top performer in the opening round, carding a 5-over 75. He birdied two of his last four holes and is tied for 63rd.

Jin Nakao had a team-best three birdies finishing with a 76 (+6) to tie for 70th.
Rei Harashima is also tied for 74th (77).

Yaoting Zou (T88th) and
Joshua Lane (T90th) round out UC Irvine's lineup.
