SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - UC Irvine men's golf saw a 25-stroke improvement in the second round of the 79th Western Intercollegiate Presented by Titleist Tuesday at Pasatiempo Golf Club.

The Anteaters are currently 15th with a two-round, 6-count-5 total of 763 (394-369). No. 30 USC took over the team lead at 16-under. The Trojans hold a four-stroke advantage over Cal. USC's Jack Buchanan carded the best round of the tournament so far to move into first place at 11-under 129 (67-62).

Rei Harashima paced the 'Eaters with an even-par 70. Harashima climbed 11 spots into a tie for 42nd with a 36-hole score of 143 (73-70).

Tommy Lin is tied for 84th (152), while
Jack Yu is one stroke back in a tie for 87th. Yu registered a 1-over 71 in the second round. He eagled the par-5, 492-yard fifth hole.
