Max Daniels won the UCR Spring Track Classic Multis decathlon with a personal-record 7,196 points.

Daniels' score ranks eighth in program history. He had a top-three finish in all five events on Friday.

Daniels started the second day of the decathlon with the fastest 110m hurdle time of the meet, crossing the finish line in 15.40. He then had a best of 38.22m (125-4) to place third in the discus.

Daniels was the runner-up in the next two events. He registered a lifetime-best 54.58m (179-1) in the javelin, while clearing 4.45m (14-7.25) in the pole vault.

Daniels closed out the grueling two-day, 10-event competition with a time of 5:15.96 in the 1500m.

UC Irvine will have a handful of student-athletes in action tomorrow at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego. The Anteaters then make their home debut next weekend, hosting the Vince O'Boyle Track & Field Classic, March 29-30.
