Robinson, Davis Set Top-10 Marks in Pentathlon

SPOKANE, Wash. - Juniors Jolie Robinson and Jazzmine Davis represented the UC Irvine women's indoor track & field team on the first day of the Riverfront Invitational & Multis Thursday at The Podium, and both established top-10 program marks in the pentathlon.
 
Robinson finished with a personal-record 3,598 points to improve on her No. 3 score in school history, while Davis, who was making her Anteater debut in the pentathlon, finished with 3,470 points to rank fourth among UCI's all-time leaders.
 
Robinson started the day with a lifetime best in the 60m hurdles where she tied for sixth at 8.94 seconds. She then cleared 1.56 meters (5-1.25) in the high jump before registering a distance of 10.76m (35-3.75) in the shot put. In the long jump, Robinson was fifth overall with a leap of 5.55m (18-2.5). She closed out the day with a PR 2:30.03 in the 800m.
 
Davis had her best performance in the 60m hurdles, placing fourth with a time of 8.70 seconds. She also notched season-bests of 10.73m (35-2.5) in the shot put, 1.44m (4-8.75) in the high jump, 5.41m (17-9) in the long jump and 2:30.21 in the 800m.
 
Robinson was ninth and Davis took 12th in a field of 23 competitors.
 
The 'Eaters are back at The Podium in Spokane, Washington, tomorrow for the second day of the Riverfront Invitational & Multis.
