The Anteaters defeated the Roadrunners, 65-40, for their fifth-straight conference-opening win. Their 25-point win was their largest margin of victory this season and the largest in their all-time series with CSUB (25 games).
• UCI is in the final week of a season-long seven-game road swing. After playing their first four games at home, the 'Eaters have a 46-day stretch where they will play seven road games with trips to Philadelphia, Albuquerque, Denver, Bakersfield, Corvallis and Eugene. In a 72-68 overtime win at Penn on Nov. 21, the 6-foot-3 forward posted the team's first double-double of the year with a season-high 20 points and 10 rebounds. That came a day after putting up 12 points and nine boards against defending CAA champion Drexel. She was named The Big West Player of the Week for her effort in the Anteaters' two wins in Philadelphia. She also finished with 17 at New Mexico, 19 at Denver and 12 at Cal State Bakersfield. Since Nov. 20, Hanson is averaging a team-best 16.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, while shooting 50% from the field and 95% at the free throw line.
