TACOMA, Wash. -- UC Irvine moved up two spots and finished in a tie for fourth place at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational that concluded Tuesday at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club.
The Anteaters shot a three-round total of 870 (289-290-291), for the second consecutive tournament. The score of 870 is tied with last week's Golfweek Red Sky Classic for second in program history for 54-holes.
Freshman
Alona Avery was 10
th overall with a score of 215 (71-69-75). She has placed in the Top 10 in each her first three collegiate tournaments, shooting under par in all but two of her nine rounds. Avery had a team-best 12 birdies during the tournament.
Freshman
Katelyn Kong had six birdies on the final round and posted a team-best 70 on Tuesday. She ended in a tie for 13
th with a score of 216 (74-72-70), matching her career-best over 54 holes. Kong had 11 birdies overall.
Freshman
HaYoung Lee made her Anteater debut placing in a tie for 28
th with a score of 220 (70-78-72). She led the team on the first round with a two under par 70.
Freshman
Katherine Gerbing (75-75-74) and sophomore
Alyson Sor (74-74-76) were tied for 43
rd with a score of 224.
Gerbing and Lee each carded seven birdies over the three rounds.
After a short break, UCI rounds out the Fall schedule traveling to the Rainbow Wahine Invitational Oct. 21-23 at the Kapolei Golf Club.
