Brooke Hourigan led the Anteaters to the 15-7 win over Big West foe No. 11 UC Davis to close out the Polo Palooza tournament at Fresno State.

Both Hett and Hourigan recorded a game best four goals on five shots in the contest.

This was Hett's first collegiate hat-trick as she added two assists and a steal to the stat sheet for the afternoon.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Juniors Libby Alexander and Gracie Helberg both tallied two goals each
- Airian Grisham, Charley Birdsall, and Gabby Norris rounded out the Anteater scoring
- UCI shot 15-34 (0.441) in the contest for the second straight game shooting over 40 percent
- Faith Tedesco played all 32 minutes in the net, saving six shots and was credited a takeaway
- Norris tied the game best of assists with two
- Five different Anteaters recorded a steal

SCORING BREAKDOWN
- First period: For the second straight game the Anteaters struck first this time off a power play goal (6:02) from Gabby Norris, but UC Davis equalized (5:38) on the following possession. The freshman Lauren Hett put two into the cage just a little over a minute apart with her last one coming at 1:29 when goalkeeper Faith Tedesco threw the length of the pool finding the attacker for the outside shot to lead 3-1.
- Second period: UC Irvine started the period off with three more goals to continue their 5-0 run. The Aggies halted the run at 2:58 with their push in goal after corralling the rebound off the post. The two squads exchanged goals with Hett adding her fourth goal of the day at 1:14 to keep UCI ahead, 8-3.

- Third period: UC Davis was the first team to find the back of the cage at 5:21 to close within four points (8-4). The Anteaters scored on three consecutive offensive possessions (3:58, 3:21, and 2:42) as Airian Grisham hit the quick flick at two meters and Hourigan went on to collect her fourth goal of the contest. The Aggies recorded a goal on the five-meter penalty shot at 1:55 but UCI maintained the 12-5 advantage heading into the final stanza.

- Fourth period: Both teams found the back of the cage in the first minute of the quarter. With 4:17 left in the game. Helberg (4:37) continued the Anteater scoring on the power play off the dish from Hett. UC Irvine scored the final goal off the contest at 2:55, which was Charley Birdsall's first collegiate goal, to win 15-7.
