Megan Yang Posts Top 5 Finish At Fresno State Classic

Fresno, Calif. – Megan Yang posted a fifth place performance at the Fresno State Classic as UC Irvine placed 12th as a team.
M. Yang carded a three-over par 219 (71-74-74) to end in fifth, her second-best performance of the year. It is M. Yang's second Top 5 finish of the year after placing second at the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic. She was second among tournament participants on Par 5s (-3), totaling 38 pars and seven birdies over three rounds.
Sophomore Charlotte Ryoo tied for 34th with a two-day score of 229 (76-74-79), while freshman Kiana Briggs was tied for 38th at 230 (77-74-79), freshman Jasmine Chen was 80th with a 54-hole total of 243 (78-80-85) and sophomore Nicole Zhang was 81st at 244 (77-87-80). Senior Coco Yang, who was playing as an individual, ended the tournament in 77th place with a score of 240 (79-80-81).
The Anteaters recorded a score of 915 (301-302-312) overall. Host Fresno State knew how to play the San Jouquin Country Club course, capturing the team title with a score of 887 (292-294-301). UC Riverside's Tiffany Le earned medalist honors with a two-under 214.
UCI will head to The Silicon Valley Showdown Apr. 11-12 at the Green Hills Country Club for the final tune-up before the Big West Championship.
