William D'Arcy Named Big West Freshman Of The Week

IRVINE, Calif. -- Opposite William D'Arcy helped UCI record a pair of victories over then-No. 6 Pepperdine last week and was named Big West Freshman of the Week.
He received the Big West accolade for the second time this season after adding two kills, two set assists, two block assists and a dig in the Anteaters' 3-2 victory in Malibu. He contributed at the net as UCI had a season-high 16 blocks which are tied for most in the Big West and are fourth most nationally.
In the second meeting, the native of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia added a block and set assist as the Anteaters took a 3-1 victory at the Bren Events Center.
UCI moved up to No. 6 in the national rankings and are idle this week before entertaining No. 2 UCLA at the Bren Events Center on Feb. 24.
