SOMIS, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's golf team completed 36 holes on the first day of the Bill Cullum Invitational at The Saticoy Club.

The Anteaters, who saw a 14-stroke improvement in the second round, finished Monday's action in 14th place with a 5-count-4 total of 612 (313-299).
Host CSUN will carry a seven-stroke advantage into tomorrow's final round as it topped the field at 2-over (578). UC San Diego's Davis McDowell is also first in the individual standings at 2-under 142 (76-66).

Senior
Darien Zhao leads the 'Eaters with a 36-hole score of 152 (78-74). Zhao climbed 19 spots into a tie for 41st after carding a second-round 74 (+2). He finished with a team-best five birdies on the day.

Yaoting Zou (78-75) and freshman
Jason Tang (75-78) both registered a 153 to sit in a tie for 52nd, while junior
Joshua Lane is tied for 67th at 157 (82-75). Lane eagled the par-4, 339-yard 16th and finished with his best 18-hole score in his UCI career in the second round. Sophomore
Rei Harashima rounded out the Anteaters' lineup in 78th.
