STOCKTON, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's golf team sits in 15th place after the first round of the Visit Stockton Invitational Monday at The Reserve at Spanos Park.

The Anteaters combined for a 5-count-4 total of 294. Utah and Grand Canyon hold the early lead as both teams finished at 13-under 275.

In his season debut, sophomore
Jin Nakao carded an even-par 72 to lead the 'Eaters in a tie for 38th. Nakao, who started on the 10th, registered his third birdie of the day on the par-5 sixth to get to 1-under before a bogey on his final hole.

Freshman
Jason Tang also had three birdies through his first nine before finishing in a tie for 47th at 1-over 73.

Sophomore
Yaoting Zou (74) is tied for 58th, while senior
Darien Zhao (75) is tied for 65th. Sophomore
Rei Harashima (76) rounded out UCI's lineup in a tie for 72nd.

The Anteaters are paired with Seattle U and California Baptist in tomorrow's second round. They have tee times slated for an 8:24 a.m. start.
