
Elena Flynn Named Big West Player Of The Week

IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine redshirt sophomore Elena Flynn was named the Big West Player of the Week after leading the Anteaters to a 1-1 record after facing two top-10 opponents.
This is the first honor of Flynn's career.
In the first game of the season, Flynn notched her first hat-trick of the year in the 10-15 loss to then No.4 California. The attacker recorded three goals on six shots and added an assist.
Flynn came out hungry in the contest against then No. 8 Fresno State, scoring seven goals to lead UCI to a 16-9 victory. Her standout performance tied the school record of seven goals in a contest that was first set in 2002, but tied last year by Tara Prentice.
Flynn and the Anteaters will head over to nearby Riverside this weekend to compete in the Lancer Invitational hosted by California Baptist.
