720 minutes; his 31 saves ranks 13th in the nation and 1st in Big West
 · UC Irvine trekked out to the East Coast for a pair of matches in New England. A defensive battle was decided in the 77th minute when a delayed hand ball call was made in the box against the 'Eaters putting the Wildcats on the penalty spot to convert for the lone goal in a 1-0 New Hampshire victory.
· The weekend completed just west in Vermont to take on the Catamounts. The match started with two goals in the first 10 minutes in steady rainfall with UVM converting off a rebound in the fourth minute and
Agaton Pourshahidi answering in the 10th minute. Vermont reclaimed the lead just 48 seconds ahead of the halftime whistle on a brilliant individual effort from Alex Nagy and a deflection redirecting the ball by Pruter that would end up being the decisive goal in a 2-1 game.
· For his efforts,
Agaton Pourshahidi claimed the program's first Big West award of the year earning Big West Freshman of the Week. Pourshahidi scored his first career goal and point Sunday in the loss at Vermont. The 2021 Anteaters earned eight weekly awards including on freshman honor to
Jake Means, and the Big West Freshman of the Year was an Anteater in
Francesco Montanile.
· The young Anteaters continue to grow with many breaking through with firsts. Pourshahidi netted his first career goal Sunday opening his account in his eighth career match. His goal makes three of UCI's five goals coming from players earning their first career goals and points joining
Diego Otoya and
Samuel Atiye. Other Anteaters drew their first career starts in New England in
Victor Sandsmark-Evensen and
Nolan DiCenzo, and
Mario Anaya has added his first career point.
· Entering the final non-conference matchup on Thursday, the 'Eaters stand with the 18th-toughest schedule in the nation. The 'Eaters have matched up with four teams that were receiving votes in the national poll.

Luke Pruter is a national leader in net with 720 minutes played to lead the NCAA. He's stopped 31 shots which leads the Big West and ranks 13th nationally, and is 50th in the nation with 3.88 saves per game. That mark is second in the conference as well in addition to the team averaging 4.0 per match overall.
· UC Irvine's one match this week is the non-conference finale hosting Loyola Marymount. LMU is 4-2-2 entering the week with Thursday being the sixth straight match against the Big West with wins vs. UCD and CSF, losses to UCSB and Sac State, and a draw Sunday vs. UCR. LMU tipped the 'Eaters in 2021, 1-0 in OT. The 2022 Lions are led by grad student Adam Davie with five of LMU's 10 goals scored.
