Liam Miksic won the javelin to highlight the first day of the inaugural
Vince O'Boyle Track & Field Classic Friday at Anteater Stadium.

Miksic picked up his first collegiate victory in his home debut. The Spring Lake, New Jersey, native took the lead with a then personal-record 197-10 on his third attempt in the prelims. He then bettered that mark in the first round of the finals with a toss of 206-00. That stood as the top distance of the meet and moved him up to No. 2 in school history.

Quincy Stokes also finished fourth in the hammer throw with a lifetime-best 169-10.

Vince O'Boyle Track & Field Classic. A full slate of events are set to get underway with the long jump at 10 a.m.
