· UCI's NCAA Tournament will start at USC Saturday, November 11, with a 1:00 p.m. kickoff from Soni McAlister Field. The 'Eaters and Trojans met in mid-September this year with UCI falling behind 3-0 after 18 minutes but finished with second half goals to pull to within 3-2.
· The Anteaters return to the NCAA Tournament for a second straight year and fourth time overall joining the 2010, 2011, and 2021 squads. Last year's meeting was also with a Pac-12 school toppling the nation's No. 2 squad, UCLA, 1-0, ending their 26-match unbeaten streak in one of the biggest upsets in NCAA Tournament history. UCI is 3-2-1 all-time in the NCAAs including a 2-1 record vs. the Pac-12 including wins vs. Arizona State and Washington in 2010.
· UCI won its third Big West Championship Sunday over Long Beach State, 3-0, to claim back-to-back titles. UCI has made 11 trips under head coach Scott Juniper as he claims his second title
· UC Irvine defeated Cal State Fullerton in the Big West First Round in overtime, 2-0. Glo Hinojosa saved a penalty in the 65th minute to help send it to overtime. In the extra periods, UCI scored off corners by Suus de Bakker in the 95th and Destinee Manzo in the 102nd.
· Thursday's semifinal again went to overtime with another Amber Huff corner finding Alyssa Moore for a 107th minute winner to down 2-seed UC Davis sending UC Irvine to the Big West Final for a second straight year and seventh overall
· Sunday's final was decided early with UCI scoring in the eighth minute by Erin Covey and goals by Suus de Bakker in the 35th and Autumn Thompkins in the 42nd took rivalry matchup, 3-0.
· Glo Hinojosa packed up the tournament MVP from three shutout wins and 10 saves. She finishes with shutouts in all five career Big West Championship matches. She enters NCAAs among the program's goalkeeper leaders. Her career 0.90 GAA is tied for second at UCI, sixth with 26 wins, the fourth 'Eater with 20 shutouts, third-best win percentage at .659, and 146 career saves needing one to crack the program's top-10 including two career PK saves. She and the defense have built a shutout streak of 395:40 entering the NCAAs. The 'Eaters had a streak of 433:03 entering the 2021 Tournament that finished at a program record 554:57
· Amber Huff matched a program record with three assists in the season finale vs. Hawai'i, the fourth time an Anteater has done it and first since Tanya Taylor in 2010. She then added five assists on UCI's six Big West Championship goals for eight over the team's last four matches to assist toward National Team of the Week recognition by Top Drawer Soccer.
· UC Irvine's active stat leaders begin with Alyssa Moore's 10 career goals. Moore shares the game-winning goal lead with Desiree Mendoza with five each. Amber Huff leads all 'Eaters with 14 career assists. Two Anteaters have over 70 career matches played in Huff and Alex Jaquez, and three other players hit 50 matches this year - Gianna Creighton, Maddy Chavez, and Destinee Manzo - making a grand total of 92 Anteaters with 50 or more matches.
· Nationally, UCI ranks high in goals-against-average (41st), save percentage (52nd), and assists (59th). Individual leaders include Hinojosa with 1,930 minutes played, second in the NCAA, her 10 shutouts ranking 11th, and her 0.746 GAA ranking 49th. Huff's nine assists are 16th in the NCAA with 0.50 assists per match which puts her 18th nationally
