· UCI's week began at UC Santa Barbara with a 1-0 loss. A Lauren Helwig goal in the 59th minute was the only tally to lift the Gauchos. UCI finished with a 12-7 advantage in shots and 7-3 on goal.
· The week completed with a noon matchup at Cal Poly and a 2-0 loss to the Mustangs. Cal Poly scored in the 23rd minute for a 1-0 lead. The 'Eaters fought back with three of four second half shots on target, but an 83rd-minute penalty kick goal completed the winning 2-0 scoreline for CP.
· The Anteaters have a trio of players that reached 50 career matches this season, something 92 Anteaters have reached all-time with
Destinee Manzo,
Gianna Creighton, and
Maddy Chavez this year.
Lilli Rask will play her 50th career match between UCI and Oregon the next time she's on the field.
·Â
Amber Huff played in her 70th career match becoming the 45th Anteater all-time to reach 70 matches.
·Â
Glo Hinojosa enters the regular season finale among the program's goalkeeper leaders. Her career 0.98 GAA is third at UCI, her 22 wins tie her for sixth, 17 shutouts rank fourth in program history, her .625 win percentage is tied for fourth, and she enters with 134 career saves needing 13 to crack the program's top-10.
· The Big West Tournament is nearly set with five of six berths locked up. The final tournament spot is down to UH, UCI, CSUB, and UCSD. Thursday between UCI and UH is a de facto play-in game with the winner gaining the final berth. A draw in the match would open the door to CSUB (11 points) and UCSD (10 points) to be the sixth team. The lone tiebreaker that comes into play for UCI would be after a win Thursday. Should CSUB also win vs. Fullerton, both teams would finish with 14 points. After drawing in their head-to-head, the next tiebreaker is conference goal differential with UCI entering at –1 and CSUB at –2. The next tiebreaker favors UCI who has allowed seven goals in Big West matches to CSUB's 14 goals allowed
· UCI and Hawai'i close out the regular season with the winner going to the Big West Tournament. All-time, UCI is 9-2-1 in the series winning the last three home matches. The teams met on the last game in 2012 to a 0-0 draw. UH is 6-5-3 with a win over Nicholls and draws at UCSB and CP. The scoring has been a combination of Krista Peterson (5 G, 3 A), Amber Gilbert (4 G, 2 A), and Kelci Sumida (2 G, 4 A)
· Anteater Stadium welcomed in 1,032 fans vs. LBSU, a second crowd of 1,000+ for women's soccer and third in the stadium between men and women. Women's soccer has now had 11 crowds of over 1,000 in its history. Following Thursday's win, Anteater Stadium has seen 6,882 total fans with an average of 765 per game.
