
Anteaters Excel Academically in Spring Quarter

IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine student-athletes finished the Spring Quarter with a strong academic showing.
Women's golf finished with the top GPA for a women's team for the fourth-straight quarter while men's cross country posted the highest GPA for a men's team. Overall, 13 UCI teams earned over a 3.0 GPA.
"The team has thrived and excelled in the classroom in these unprecedented times and I could not be more proud of them," said head coach Julie Brooks. "They always strive for excellence and represent UCI in the best way possible."
In the spring quarter of 2021, 108 student-athletes were honored on the Dean's List. To qualify for the Dean's List, individuals need 12 or more undergraduate graded units in a quarter with a GPA of 3.500 or better.
"I am very proud of the hard work our men's cross country group put into their academics this quarter!" said Coach Casey Kear. "While jumping back into competition on the track this past spring they were able to remain focused on their school work take care of business in the classroom. We talk about keeping academics as the top priority but in a year like we just had it is easier said than done. So proud our men were able to lead the department for Spring Quarter 2021!"
